Last Thursday night the Wild Wasabi Women Stamp Club met for their Christmas get-together stamp club meeting. They each brought a 'goodie' and Jan brought the mice above. Aren't they too cute????? I asked Jan if I could share the recipe with you and she said I could ~ it will be at the bottom of this post. THANKS, JAN!
Christmas Eve Mice
24 Double-stuff oreos
1 cup (6oz) semisweet choc. chips
2 tsp shortening
24 red maraschino cherries with stems,
24 choc. kisses
48 sliced almonds
1 small tube green decorative icing gel
1 small tube red decorative icing gel
Carefully twist cookies apart; set aside halves with cream filling. (save other half for another use..or eat!) In microwave or heavy sauce pan, melt choc. chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Holding cherry by stem, dip in the melted chocolate, then press onto the bottom of a kiss. Place on the cream filling of cookie, with the cherry stem extending beyond cookie edge. For ears, place slivered almonds between kiss and cherry. Refrigerate until set. With green gel, pipe holly leaves on the cream. Pipe red holly berries between leaves and pipe eyes on each choc. kiss.
Store in an airtight container at room temp.
PS
I found it easier if I laid the cherry on the cookie and then placed the kiss up against it. Also off-center the mouse a bit so you have room for holly. Enjoy!!
