Cat/Art Studio

This damage from Hurricane Irene is not in Norfolk but in Richmond at my sister's home!  The tree is huge and stood relatively close to their home, in their back yard.  The tree fell away from their home, thank heavens! 

This is my brother-in-law, Pete.  He is not a dwarf ~ just looks like one in this picture!  He is 6'1" so this picture really gives you a good idea about the size of the tree.  My sister, Judy, thinks the tree is a 100 year old Tulip Poplar.  They still have no power and she says that they haven't seen any of the Va Power trucks yet.  The radio announced that the power outage in Richmond was still effecting 136,000, far more than here in Hampton Roads.  Thank heavens that they are both safe and that their home was not destroyed, other's were.  Judy has a friend that lost half of their home and won't be able to return for at least six months!
